Having worked on countless Events and TV productions during my time at Sagafilm I was tasked with the role of Creative Director for the Keynotes for CCP Presents, EVE Online, Dust 514 and EVE Valkyrie. We took quite a few things and restructured or re-imagined them, making some changes to both the look & feel of the keynotes overall as well as rethinking the tone and theme of the presentations and presentation style. We decided to use projection mapping technique for the stage design to accommodate the keynote presentations. We would tie trusses together and cover them with a white elastic cloth forming pillars on the stage which we could project on using 4 powerful projector. The material projected on the pillars would be key art themed according to the event as well as special motion graphics material authored for each keynote to emphasize certain key moments in each presentation. We also teamed up with a company called Crowd Convergence which provided us with a solution we used to custom design Twitter feeds which we displayed on the pillars throughout the keynotes. This gave the audience in the room and watching the stream the chance to participate directly with the visuals.
